The United Way of Susquehanna County is pleased to announce its new office location at 693 Main St New Milford PA, the former location of Lackawanna College.
For several years, the United Way was able to share space with the Community Foundation of Susquehanna and Wyoming Counties, however, due to the success and growth of both non-profit agencies, there was an increased need for space. So in 2007 it was decided by the boards of both the Community Foundation and the United Way that 6 Locust Street would become the home of the United Way. The United Way was very grateful to be able to use this location as their office for the past 3 years.
The new office has plenty of space for employees and volunteers, and the United Way will also be able to continue using the space at the Community Foundation building for larger meetings.
Ruth Donnelly, Executive Director of the United Way, is thrilled with the new location. “It is a comfortable work environment, and we are more centrally located,” she says. “We continue to have a close working relationship with the Community Foundation and as always they are only a phone call away.”
THE BLUE RIBBON FOUNDATION SUPPORTS THE UNITED WAY IN SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY
WILKES-BARRE -- The Blue Ribbon Foundation of Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania is committed to supporting nonprofit agencies that respond to the needs of its neighbors throughout the region. The Foundation's Board of Directors recently authorized its 2010/2011 contribution of nearly $122,000 to be shared by 14 United Ways located throughout BCNEPA's 13-county service area.
As part of that contribution, the United Way of Susquehanna County received $3,340.00 targeted specifically to support health-related programs for Susquehanna County residents.
"The United Way is proud to partner with The Blue Ribbon Foundation as we strive to meet the community's needs in a meaningful way," said Ruth Donnelly, executive director, United Way of Susquehanna County. "In the past 3 years, The Foundation has contributed nearly $13,000.00 which has been critical to our success in serving families most at-risk in Susquehanna County."
"Many people across our service area are feeling the strain of the economy," said Cynthia A. Yevich, executive director of The Blue Ribbon Foundation. "We are privileged to have the resources to help improve lives and change the community conditions that affect our region's most vulnerable residents."
